🌿 Purpose

The Sternocleidomastoid (SCM) Stretch is designed to gently lengthen one of the primary muscles along the front and side of the neck. Tightness in the SCM can contribute to neck pain, tension headaches, dizziness, jaw discomfort, facial pain, eye strain, and limited neck mobility.

Because the SCM is heavily involved in head posture and breathing mechanics, restoring its flexibility can improve posture, reduce muscle tension, and promote more comfortable movement throughout the neck and shoulders.

💛 Benefits

✓ Reduces neck tension

✓ Improves cervical mobility

✓ Helps relieve tension headaches

✓ May reduce jaw and facial tension

✓ Improves posture

✓ Supports healthy breathing mechanics

✓ Reduces forward head posture

✓ Decreases muscle tightness from prolonged sitting or computer work

✓ Improves body awareness
